Artist’s Bio
Holli Levy is an encaustic artist, incorporating photography and mixed media in many of her pieces. Holli began her artistic journey with acrylics and mixed media. When she discovered encaustics, she was enthralled by the movement and texture of the medium. Holli is a process artist who may discover her pieces by following the flow of the encaustic paint. Her inspiration often comes while outdoors. An avid hiker and photographer, her love of nature can be found in her artwork. She wants the viewers of her paintings to experience the joy and excitement she feels while creating.
After a career as a classroom teacher, Holli’s aim was to retire to something rather than from something. She began exploring an artistic practice and never looked back. In addition to making art, Holli shares her love of art by teaching classes in art journaling and mixed media. Holli has recently joined the Art in Common group as Educational Director.
Holli has had solo shows, and she has been in a variety of juried art shows in Connecticut and New York. She is part of a large arts community and continues to grow her practice through play, experimentation and education.
